An unusual sterling silver stacking pebble necklace which forms part of my Zero Waste collection.

Each organic pebble is individually made by melting recycled sterling silver then forging into a round (ish) pebble shape, they are then polished and finished to a high shine.
The pebbles are then stacked to form a unique rustic pile representing a cairn.
You can choose to have a 3 or 5 stone cairn and your silver pebble stones can be soldered solidly together so they do not move or you can choose to have them so they spin freely.
The stones are extremely tactile so they are perfect for using as a comforting habit to ‘twiddle’ with creating your own precarious stone cairn pile.

The pebble stack hangs on an 18inch belcher or curb chain.

Measurements;

As the pebbles stacks are all individually made they can measure in height anywhere between:

3 stone stack – 18-25mm (including bail)
5 stone stack – 23-30mm (including bail)

Slight differences in size, shape and surface texture are to be expected.

Rock cairns are human made mounds or piles of stones or rocks.
Cairns have been used by cultures all around the world for many different purposes since prehistoric times and are normally used as a memorial, landmark or to celebrate the achievement of climbing a mountain. They are also still used as a navigational aid for hillwalkers and hikers so that people do not lose their way.

Rock stacking especially when they are precariously stacked (which many cairns are) takes patience to create the perfect balance and this necklace can help to remind you of the importance of finding patience and calmness in our lives.
