Another fantastic find whilst holidaying in the gorgeous coastal areas of Cornwall, this double mussel shell was perfect for casting into a fantastically detailed double sterling silver mussel necklace.
This beautiful Double Mussel Shell Pendant can be purchased plain or with either a white synthetic pearl or sterling silver teardrop bead hidden inside. The teardrop bead hangs on an oval bail soldered between the mussel shell halves where as the pearl hangs on the chain through two small holes drilled through the mussel halves.
The pendant comes on either an 18inch or 20inch sterling silver 1.2mm or 2.0mm ball chain.
Measurements:
Mussel – Approximately 27mm x 16mm (without necklace)
Synthetic Pearl- Approximately 6.0mm
Teardrop Bead – Approximately 7.0mm
Weights:
Plain mussel: 5g (without necklace)
Mussel with 6.0mm pearl: 5.4g
Mussel with 7.0mm teardrop bead: 5.9g
The pendant has been tumbled for several hours to harden the silver and to give it a high shine.
